Programme Outline


Duration: This programme runs for 2 semesters


Entry requirements: 
The programme is open to candidates with:


(a)    Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Industrial Chemistry with minimum of Second Class Lower Division from the University of Lagos or any other recognised University.

(b)   Candidates holding a B. Pharm. degree and registered with the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria will be given top priority

(c) Candidates may be required to satisfy the Department in a selection process.

To be admitted into the M.Sc. Pharmaceutical Chemistry program at the University of Lagos, you need a minimum of a second-class lower division Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field, and five 'O' level credits including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates may also need to pass an entrance exam, which is based on undergraduate syllabus material. 
Academic requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: A minimum of a Second-class Lower degree in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a similar relevant field.
  • 'O' Level Credits: Credit passes in at least five subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, at a single sitting.
