The selection committee does not just look at grades. They are looking for "change-makers."

While you may be applying for multiple scholarships, avoid using a generic template. Explicitly connect your goals to the ethos of the MPOWER scholarship—empowerment, future potential, and international mobility.
Before submitting, have a mentor, professor, or a trusted peer review your essay. Ask them:
"Is it clear why I want this degree?"
"Does my vision sound ambitious yet realistic?"
"Are there any grammatical errors or awkward phrasings?"
Research MPOWER-Eligible Schools: Ensure your target university is on the MPOWER-supported list before applying for the scholarship.
Prepare Documentation: Even if you aren't applying for a loan, keep your proof of admission, transcripts, and passport copy organized.
Track Deadlines: MPOWER often runs multiple scholarship cycles throughout the year (e.g., monthly or quarterly).
Combine Financial Aid: Don’t rely on a single source. Combine scholarships with university-based grants, teaching assistantships, and (if necessary) no-cosigner private loans to create a full funding plan.
U.S. citizens wishing to study in the U.S. and Canadian citizens wishing to study in Canada are not eligible for this scholarship.
