MPOWER "Chasing Dreams Never Ends" Scholarship

This is perhaps the most well-known program using this terminology. It is specifically designed to support international graduate students.  MPOWER Monthly Scholarship

How to Find and Apply for These Scholarships

Because these scholarships are distinct, you cannot use a "one-size-fits-all" approach to your applications. Follow these steps to maximize your chances:

  1. Verify Eligibility First: Before drafting an essay, read the official website for the specific program. Do not assume all "Dream" scholarships have the same rules regarding citizenship or major.

  2. Tailor Your Essay: These programs are looking for "dreamers." Your essay should not just be a list of achievements; it should tell a compelling narrative about your background, the obstacles you have faced, and the vision you have for your future career.

  3. Prepare Documentation Early: Most of these applications require proof of enrollment, official or unofficial transcripts, and occasionally letters of recommendation. Gather these weeks before the deadline.

  4. Watch the Deadlines: These scholarships typically have annual deadlines (often in July). Check the specific provider’s website each year, as dates can shift.

A Note for Students Searching for Financial Aid

If you are looking for funding, do not limit yourself to programs with the word "dream" in the title. Many of the best scholarships for international or first-generation students are labeled by the field of study, the host institution, or the donor organization (such as professional associations or private foundations).
